The Bison Ranch  The Bison Ranch is a premier destination for buffalo, duck, goose, deer, sharptail grouse, pheasant, and coyote hunting in the coveted Coteau region of central North Dakota. In addition, it is home to a vast herd of American bison in a primitive setting.

 

BIRDING

 

Arrowwood Wetland Management District was established in 1961 as a breeding ground for migratory birds and other wildlife. The District currently includes 28 Waterfowl Production Areas (WPAs) totaling 6,162 acres across Foster and Eddy counties in east-central North Dakota.  The Refuge headquarters is located 26 miles north of Jamestown and about 23 miles south of Carrington. From Jamestown, travel north on Highway 281 to Edmunds. At Edmunds, go east on County Road 44 for 5.5 miles and turn north on the headquarters road. From Carrington, travel south on Highway 281 to Edmunds. Turn east on County Road 44 for 5.5 miles, and turn north on the headquarters road. There are signs on Highway 281 and County Road 44 directing visitors to the headquarters. Foster County Waterfowl Production Area

Birding In North Dakota  Visit this website for a list of birding locations that are considered to be "hot spots" for birders.  These locations are swarming with birds at various times during the year.  Two of the "hot spots" near Carrington are Hawk's Nest and Juanita Lake.  More Info...

Central City Lanes is located at 890 Main Street in Carrington.  If you are interested in being on a league, please call 652-3800.  Monday/Wednesday: Women's League - Tuesday/Thursday: Men's League - Sunday Mixed League - Starts at 7pm.

 

GOLFING

 

CrossRoads 18 Hole Golf Course & Recreation Parkway
This is a beautiful, challenging golf course located one mile north  of Carrington on Hwy 281.   A scenic 5 mile recreation trail for walking, jogging, bike riding and cross-country skiing trail is connected to CrossRoads.

 

ROLLER SKATING at the Armory

October 23rd, 2009 - April 9th, 2010

 

Roller Skating at Carrington Armory: This is a great place to exercise and have fun on Friday nights from October through April.  Just remember, all roller blades need to have soft or urethane wheels.  Skating for beginners will be from 6-7pm, and from 7-9pm for 1st graders to adults.  Skating is scheduled for every Friday evening through April 9th EXCEPT for November 7h, November 27th, December 25th, January 1st, February 26th and April 2nd. SNOWMOBILING - SKIING


Snowmobile North Dakota is a state organization made up of snowmobile clubs and individuals / family and business memberships. The organization is composed of 45 clubs, 1,000+ individual / family memberships, and 30+ business memberships. Take a look at the trails that are available for family fun.

SUMMER SWIMMING IN THE PARK

May 26th - August 15th

 

Regular pool hours for open swimming will be every day from 1-4:45pm and  7-9:45pm on Monday -Saturday. Adult only swimming is from 5-6pm Monday - Saturday.  Family Night is Sunday evening from 6:30-8:30pm, and  parents must be present in the pool with their children.

 

Season Ticket Rates: Family - $90 / Single - $50

Single Admissions: Children 14 & Under - $2 / Adults - $3

Wading Pool - $1
