The Bison Ranch The Bison Ranch is a premier destination for buffalo, duck, goose, deer, sharptail grouse, pheasant, and coyote hunting in the coveted Coteau region of central North Dakota. In addition, it is home to a vast herd of American bison in a primitive setting.
BIRDING
Arrowwood Wetland Management District was established in 1961 as a breeding ground for migratory birds and other wildlife. The District currently includes 28 Waterfowl Production Areas (WPAs) totaling 6,162 acres across Foster and Eddy counties in east-central North Dakota. The Refuge headquarters is located 26 miles north of Jamestown and about 23 miles south of Carrington. From Jamestown, travel north on Highway 281 to Edmunds. At Edmunds, go east on County Road 44 for 5.5 miles and turn north on the headquarters road. From Carrington, travel south on Highway 281 to Edmunds. Turn east on County Road 44 for 5.5 miles, and turn north on the headquarters road. There are signs on Highway 281 and County Road 44 directing visitors to the headquarters. ROLLER SKATING at the Armory October 23rd, 2009 - April 9th, 2010
Roller Skating at Carrington Armory: This is a great place to exercise and have fun on Friday nights from October through April. Just remember, all roller blades need to have soft or urethane wheels. Skating for beginners will be from 6-7pm, and from 7-9pm for 1st graders to adults. Skating is scheduled for every Friday evening through April 9th EXCEPT for November 7h, November 27th, December 25th, January 1st, February 26th and April 2nd. Picnic Shelter Rental: $35 Alcohol Permit: $20 The Carrington Park Board has established a policy whereby alcohol consumption is allowed only at the large picnic shelters with the purchase of a permit. The permit is available at a cost of $20 in conjunction with the rental of the shelter.
