The Bison Ranch The Bison Ranch is a premier destination for buffalo, duck, goose, deer, sharptail grouse, pheasant, and coyote hunting in the coveted Coteau region of central North Dakota. In addition, it is home to a vast herd of American bison in a primitive setting.
Arrowwood Wetland Management District was established in 1961 as a breeding ground for migratory birds and other wildlife. The District currently includes 28 Waterfowl Production Areas (WPAs) totaling 6,162 acres across Foster and Eddy counties in east-central North Dakota. The Refuge headquarters is located 26 miles north of Jamestown and about 23 miles south of Carrington. From Jamestown, travel north on Highway 281 to Edmunds. At Edmunds, go east on County Road 44 for 5.5 miles and turn north on the headquarters road. From Carrington, travel south on Highway 281 to Edmunds. Turn east on County Road 44 for 5.5 miles, and turn north on the headquarters road. There are signs on Highway 281 and County Road 44 directing visitors to the headquarters. There's a phrase that comes out often, I think it was from a movie long ago: "Build it and they will come."
That phrase came to me the other day as I remembered back when plans were first prepared for the CrossRoads Golf Club now located north of the city. I sat on that original committee and following meeting after meeting and year after year, the new 18-hole course was developed.
And, they have come to play the course. From all over the state, many other states and even foreign countries, golfers have played the excellent facility located to the north. Many, if not all, have commented on the excellent layout and just how supreme are the fairways and greens.
Lots of TLC and hard work each year by the grounds keepers and manager have made this one of the finest in the state of North Dakota. More...
ROLLER SKATING at the Armory

Roller Skating at Carrington Armory: This is a great place to exercise and have fun on Friday nights from October through April. Just remember, all roller blades need to have soft or urethane wheels. Skating for beginners will be from 6-7pm, and from 7-9pm for 1st graders to adults. Skating is scheduled for every Friday evening through April 9th EXCEPT for November 25th, December 23rd, January 1st, February 26th and April 6th.
