Soup Bowl - 2009
Putnam House Soup Bowl
So many yummy soups! How can I choose?
Remember to come back for more!
Although it was snowing and blowing outside, the annual Putnam House Soup Bowl, which was originally set for Tuesday, March 10th, took place on Wednesday, March 25th. It was a perfect day for hot soup and warm bread! Also, the ambiance of dining by the cozy fireplace at the Putnam House just couldn't be beat. Although the snowy weather and icy roads kept away the usual huge turnout, there were lots of hardy souls in line for the popular Soup Bowl soups. You could hear lots of comments like, "Wow! There are so many wonderful soups! How can I choose?!" The Soup Bowl menu actually featured 10 homemade soups along with warm crusty bread and a beverage. And, as you can imagine, these were some of the best recipes from some of the best cooks in Carrington! Chicken Wild Rice, Chili, Seafood Bisque, French Onion, Zuppa Tuscana, Knephla, Clam Chowder, Paula Dean's Chicken Noodle, Potato Bacon Chowder, and Tomato Pasta. Yum!! All the cooks should be highly commended for supporting the Putnam House in such a great way. Also, Alison Shumann, the coordinator for this event, as well as the efficient serving crew put a lot of time and effort into making this event a success.

All proceeds from the Soup Bowl will be used to further the cultural activities at the Putnam House - events which are very popular and enjoyed by the Carrington community.
Putnam House Soup Bowl - March - 2012
The Putnam House held its annual "Soup Bowl" on March 20, 2012. As usual, the homemade soups were scrumptious... thanks to the wonderful cooks in our community! Very unusual for this area, though, was the warm, Spring weather... absolutely no snow... green grass and sunny skies.
March, 2012 - Quite a difference!
Well, we didn't need all that delicious hot soup to warm us up like in our snowy March's of the last years. But, soup at the Putnam House is always a welcome treat. There were at least 10 varieties of homemade soup from Carrington's great cooks, along with a crusty bread, a beverage and a treat - the perfect lunch... for only $5. And, remember all proceeds go toward keeping up the Putnam House and providing many worthwhile community events.
