From
Carrington, it's a nice, scenic drive to Bowdon... and
especially pleasant when you know the special treats that await
you at the end of the drive.
If you love
homemade breads, all kinds of yummy pastries (including apple pies),
jams and jellies, enticing cakes and cookies, Bowdon is the place to
go on Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons.
In addition
to the large variety of homemade delights, you will find all kinds
of fresh fruits and vegetables: homegrown tomatoes, squash,
cucumbers, peppers, potatoes, onions, fresh dill, carrots, corn and
more.
Also,
while you're shopping you can enjoy melodies played by local
musicians....
...and, if you get hungry you can
treat yourself to some locally grown raspberries with ice cream
and/or other goodies. The ladies serving in the cafeteria will
tell you that the proceeds go toward producing a Bowdon newspaper
four times a year.
You will be impressed with the
quality of the homemade products and homegrown fruits and vegetables
at the Bowdon market. And, you will be impressed with the
farmers, homemakers, other vendors, and the community leaders who
have organized this weekly event.
