WINTER EVENTS
Walk-In Wellness Clinic First Friday of Each Month 8:30 - 10:30am Foster County Health Office 881 Main Street, Carrington Come to the Walk-In Wellness Clinic. Every age is welcome. We can provide blood pressure, pulse, hemoglobin, blood sugar and weight checks, as well as assistance with medications and tobacco cessation. The clinics will be held the first Friday of every month from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Foster County Public Health Office. Please call with any questions: 701-652-3087.
French Toast & Sausage Feed Thursday, January 26: 5-7pm Carrington Senior Citizen Center 36 10th Avenue South Don't miss this scrumptious breakfast-at-night, offered by the Carrington Lions - a great group to support because they are great about supporting the community! The meal is only $5 a place for adults and $3 a plate for children under 12. While you eat, enjoy music provided by Roger Lauckner. The Lions say THANK YOU for supporting their services. "The Sweet Spot" Diabetes Education Monday, January 30: 10:30am Carrington Senior Center This is a continuing series of presentations offered by Carrington Drug.... very informative regarding "Diabetes Education for Everyday Living." This session will concentrate on "High and Low Blood Sugars, Sick Days."
Zumba Exercise Workouts Starting February 2nd Bowdon Lutheran Church Bowdon "Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what the Zumba® program is all about. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party™ that’s moving millions of people toward joy and health." More... Go Red Wellness Clinic Monday, February 6: 4-6pm Foster County Public Health Office Nurses will provide a FREE screening, including blood pressure, pulse, weight, hemoglobin and blood sugar check. Handouts will be available with nutrition and fitness tips as well as healthy food snack samples. The first 15 women between the ages of 18-44 will receive a goodie bag. No appointments necessary.
Annual Meeting Sykeston Fire Protection District Wednesday, February 8: 8pm Sykeston Fire Hall Interested parties should attend this meeting for the election of officers.
Through April 27th, 2012 Carrington Armory This is a great place to exercise and have fun on Friday nights from October through April. Just remember, all roller blades need to have soft or urethane wheels. Skating for beginners will be from 6-7pm, and from 7-9pm for 1st graders to adults. Skating is scheduled for every Friday evening through April 27th EXCEPT for November 25th, December 23rd, January 1st, February 26th and April 6th.
