Carrington, North Dakota Blog
If you haven't done so already, I'd like to
invite you to take a look throughout my website/blog,
CarringtonNews
.Com. It's
basically a guide to Carrington and the surrounding areas -
obviously not a real newspaper, like the Foster County
Independent. It's a site that I just do for fun – not money.
People are able to place free ads in the classified and real
estate sections, and I don’t charge for links to business
websites.

Jamestown resident, Alexis
Barnick, on ‘American Idol’ tonight?
Posted on 01/25/2012by
dakotavalleynorthernplains
Maybe! We hope so!
The Jamestown College junior originally “auditioned” for the Fox
television series about a year and a half ago while her family was
on vacation in Orlando. The “audition” was part of a Disney World
attraction, which landed her a golden ticket, and to the front of
the line for a real audition in Aspen, Colo., last summer.
At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, “American Idol” will air those auditions
from Aspen. It’s unknown whether she’ll appear on Wednesday’s show.

Senior Citizens of
Carrington
The Senior Citizens Club of Carrington is a very active group.
If you're a senior and haven't been to one of their monthly
potlucks, then you're really missing out! Also, if you want to
have a nice lunch during the week, just drop by the club, and have a
very nice meal for only $3.50 (served by South Central Adult
Services - the same organization that provides Meals on Wheels).
It's also a great place to meet people, to play cards, shoot pool,
play Bingo, or just spend time chatting.
The following pictures were taken at one of their monthly potlucks
(Wednesday, August 17, 2011), when they had special guest speakers
who talked about their World War II veterans honor tour to
Washington, DC.

Red Hats at the
Prairie Inn

What a delightful
group of ladies! I was having lunch at the Prairie Inn today
when I noticed all the spunky women with colorful red hats and
purple outfits. I thought to myself, "I would love to be a
part of that
group!" So, I took out my
handy camera, went over to introduce myself and was immediately
thrilled and impressed with the fact that they didn't run away
from my camera, and didn't mind taking a minute to pose for me.
They were all very gracious, and I found out lots of fascinating
facts about them and the Red Hat Society.
