Carrington, North Dakota Blog

If you haven't done so already, I'd like to invite you to take a look throughout my website/blog, CarringtonNews

.Com.  It's basically a guide to Carrington and the surrounding areas - obviously not a real newspaper, like the Foster County Independent. It's a site that I just do for fun – not money.  People are able to place free ads in the classified and real estate sections, and I don’t charge for links to business websites.

Veteran's Day Celebration

Carrington - 2015

We had a wonderful Veteran's Day luncheon in our small town of Carrington, North Dakota, to honor our local veterans and their families. The event was sponsored by the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, along with help from other thoughtful ladies in the Carrington community. Marlene Boyer, president of the North Dakota American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, who helped coordinate the event, introduced some very special veterans who live in our area. It was an honor and privilege to hear from Carrington's three World War II veterans, Roland Peterson, Lorraine Schroeder, and Adam Malinski, as well as have lunch and visit with other veterans from the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Desert Storm and Afghanistan. God's blessings on all our veterans!!!

Carrington Ag Business Tour - July 30, 2013

The Carrington Ag Business Tour took place on Tuesday, July 30, visiting four ag-oriented establishments in our area: Andy Deterding Ag Aviation; NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center; Richard Zink's Wholesale Ag Products; and the Van Bedaf Dairy.

The four ag businesses on this tour are excellent examples of ag-oriented endeavors at their best. These business owners and the staff at NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center need to be commended for the extreme effort they put into their work... and for the economic opportunities/prestige they bring to our community.

Special thanks goes to Steve Metzger for hosting the tour and to Farm Credit Services, North Dakota Farmers Union, Arrowwood Prairie Co-op and the Carrington Convention & Visitors Bureau for making this tour possible.
